Can you have microsoft works and office together?

I already have microsoft works installed on my computer as it was included but i want to install microsoft office but when i insert the disk it says i already have a version and wont install. Is it because I have microsoft works? If so do i need to uninstall it to have office?

I have Microsoft Works and Microsoft Office both installed. I don't have any problem with them both being there and they don't really occupy all that much space.

yes.
It is possible that there was a trial version of Office at one time or it came pre-loaded on the system and you did not realize it.

Go to the Control Panel and Add/Remove programs and look and see if Microsoft Office is in the list. If so, remove it and reinstall your copy.
I've seen them installed together but if you are going to be installing Office, there is really no reason to keep Works around anyways.
no microsoft works is totally dif. from office, maybe u have office, click start menu, click programms, there should be the microsoft office.
